Rabbits
Rabbits - Gaynor Leigh
00:00 / 00:00

A simple and common nursery rhyme melody, with words referring to the countless rabbits on the dunes of Seaton Snook, then known as "Jackie Franklin's Rabbit Hills".  The Franklins were a prominent local family, owning a farm, a dairy, and a great deal of the land in and around Seaton Snook.  John "Jackie" Franklin, was also coxswain and superintendent of the Seaton lifeboat.

The "Rabbit Hills" were also the subject of one of the Seaton Snook Northumbrian Smallpipe tunes, and Jackie Franklin is named as the composer of the "Pity Me" Chorale as recorded by the Zinc Works Band.
